I am excited to share a quick look into our new home! The bedroom and studio/office are still coming together with just a handful of more boxes to unpack and art to hang on the walls. I'll definitely share photos after those rooms come together this week. Other than that - it feels like home! We haven't painted yet, but we're thinking of holding off for a little while until we settle in. We're really leaning toward this gorgeous gray/pastel shade of green called Chinese Jade from Behr. I used Behr in our last home and really loved the paint and primer in one. It's also a very particular shade of green that we're going for, and Behr has an app that matches the paint color from a photo and I think we got it pretty close!
As for the entire moving experience, as much as it was a whirlwind, we've been able to enjoy each day as it comes and goes. We rented a huge truck for our two bedroom apartment and with the help of five guys, we loaded the truck in three hours, and unloaded it in 30 minutes. I remember trying to make room for more boxes at the new house, and then going outside to load more in, and suddenly the truck was empty. It was incredible how fast we unloaded. We've found a home for almost all of our items, including decorations and wall art, and even made use of our attic for storing holiday decorations. The house looked kind of small when it was empty, but as soon as we started arranging our furniture, the rooms feel spacious and cozy. Our furniture looks like it belonged here all along!

You can see some new additions like the rug (from Urban Outfitters) to make the hardwood floors in the living room a little more cozy, as well as the elevated dog bowl (from Sierra Trading Post) in anticipation of the newest member of our family, Mordechai! I shared a photo of him when we met him on my Instagram if you missed it. He's a retired racing greyhound who is 3 years old, and we're adopting him soon! I have another post coming documenting our adoption process for those that might be interested in fostering or adopting greyhounds.
So many friends and family are moving or adopting pets that I know and it's kind of surreal. It's exciting to be going through this change with everyone, kind of like we're all in it together. The stress of packing, moving day, unpacking, nesting, prepping for new pets... it's a never-ending to-do list! Both S and I are so excited to share our home with a dog. We daydream about where Mordechai's numerous beds will be, where we'll take him for walks, the toys we'll buy him...
