This weekend came and went as quickly as summer rains in Florida do. We drove to the west coast to visit our parents on Friday evening and had a quick dinner and wine with my dad, then off to a restaurant for drinks with all of S's groomsmen (his friends, his brother, and my brother). On Saturday we had a quick breakfast with S's mom at her house, then went to my moms house in the afternoon to spend time with my mom, my aunt and uncle, my cousins, and my grandparents. When we woke up Sunday, we hit the mall for some Austin-appropriate clothes and then came back home, just in time for me to work a quinceanera.
After a fast-paced weekend, I am looking forward to a few days of relaxing weeknights before we fly to Austin. This morning I laid in bed for an extra hour, hoping to soak up as much energy as possible to get excited for our trip. Do you have any recommendations for restaurants and bars in Austin? My friend will definitely have a couple of options of her favorites to show us, but we are always open to more suggestions! My other friend sent me this article, and reading these dishes has got me hungry for lunch.
Honey rosemary fried chicken at Salty Sow, grilled peaches at Swift's Attic, and a Pimms Cup at Clarks Oyster Bar sounds so perfect. I took my H&M gift card to the mall yesterday and was successful with a pair of shorts that I don't hate, and extra tank tops to wear. I'm thinking all of the good food and drinks will make up for all of the hot and sweltering afternoons we're about to have!
